I’m sure I don’t need to convince anyone that having this year has been very unusual and different. We had lockdowns, government restictions, Covid-19, murder hornets and riots to name a few, but as I reflect on the last 12 months at Highpoint, I’m recognizing a lot of good to come out of 2020 as well.

With all the less-than-ideal circumstances in 2020, God has given me a chance to slow down, to spend extra time with my family, and to remind me of a few things.

  • Jesus is King. – There’s nothing like completely out-of-control circumstances to make this very clear. And very comforting. Why worry when you can pray.
  • I have an amazing wife & family. – I already knew this, but I got to see it in action more this year. They put themselves on the front line each week to help each one of us in our Spiritual journey.
  • I work with an amazing team. – I say it every year, but this year it was uniquely fun to watch them adapt to meet the rapidly changing needs of Highpoint. Even in the middle of a pandemic, their faithfulness each week to serve God is unmatched. I’m reminded of Ps 20:78 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Thank you everyone for making 2020 a great year and one of the best years at Highpoint. If you haven’t heard me say it before, I’m grateful that you allow me to be your pastor. I’m looking forward to 2021 and seeing what God is going to do

Keep up the good work!
